Pictures and stuff

Its doing some serious snowing here. This is a picture I took this afternoon out my front door, and if you click on the picture it will enlarge it, and you can see how big the snowflakes were. I am sick of winter and ready for spring and warmer weather!!! Anyone with me on that one?!
Isn't this how you wear your winter coat? :) I should probably explain...two nights ago, Hannah pooped in her sleep, and since it didn't wake her up, she slept in a poopy diaper all night. Hannah seems to have pretty sensitive skin, so she gets diaper rash really easily. Well, her poor little butt is soooo red that last night and today I have been letting her run around naked, just to give her skin a break. So today after her bath I let her run around in the buff, and I think that she must have gotten cold, because she brought me her coat to put on her. It was too cute!
We LOVE to play in the sink!!!
Hannah really loves her doggie...her to hear her say it, googie. She plays with Maggie and thinks it is so fun to throw the ball for her.
I decided to post this picture, because I really think it just sums up how the past couple of days have been. I have been fighting a bug of some sort, and last night I started feeling really crappy. I almost just wanted to stick my finger down my throat and get it over with. Thankfully I didn't, and after 10 hours of sleep last night and a 2 hour nap today, I am starting to feel somewhat better. It has been an interesting day. This morning I was feeling kind of cruddy, and just not my normal self, and I am sitting in the office replying to some emails from work. Well Hannah comes walking into the office with one of the cups that she plays with in the tub, and proceeds to dump an entire cup of water on the floor. So I get up and follow her out and down the hallway to see where the water is coming from. She heads right back into the bathroom and starts to scoop more water out of the TOILET!!! AHHHH!! It was one of those times that I really wanted to laugh, but I knew I needed to tell her no. Then I head out to the kitchen to grab the phone to call Nick at work and tell him what his daughter just did and I see that the dog pooped under the table. (This is very abnormal for her...she always asks out when she has to go.) What a morning...so I thought the above picture was appropriate...stick a fork (or maybe a should say a spoon) in me...I am done. :)

She loves to play in the sink. Give this kid some water and she is content forever. It is a great way to keep her busy and happy while I am cooking in the kitchen.

My friend had her baby!!!

One of my really good friends from college was pregnant with her second little boy, and I just found out that she had him this morning. Lance was born around 6:30 this morning and was 6 lbs 15 ounces. Dawn was 36 weeks, so he was a little bit early, and he was doing some grunting when breathing, so right now he is in the NICU, but is otherwise doing fine. Please pray for Dawn, Dan, Luke and Lance, that they will be able to rest, that Lance will start breathing more comfortably, and that the transition to a family of four will go smoothly. Congratulations you guys!!!

Playing in the Kitchen

Last week while I was working in the kitchen, I gave Hannah the silverware tray to play with. I thought that it was a great idea at the time, but now she goes to that drawer and points and asks me to get it out for her to play with. And as you can see, she makes a mess :)

I made blueberry muffins yesterday...I don't know why, but I was really hungry for a muffin, and I think that Hannah liked them too.

Playing with Maggie...and a towel

It never ceases to amaze me that despite all the really cool toys that Hannah has, she gets such a big kick out of playing with a dish towel. She thought it was soooo funny to put the towel over her head and then walk around not being able to see a thing. And if she tripped or fell over, she just thought it was even funnier. I've said it before, and I am sure I will say it again....WHAT A GOOFY KID!!!!

She also has a lot of fun playing with Maggie. As you can see from the video she thinks throwing the ball for Maggie is so funny. :)

Easily Entertained...:)

Hannah had fun playing in the car while Nick and I (well mostly Nick) put in our new floor mats. Check out the video...in my humble opinion, it is really cute. :)

Happy Valentines Day!!

Happy Valentines Day everyone!! Here are some fun pictures of Hannah from the last week.

Hannah likes to lay on the heating vent in the dining room. I think that she likes to feel the warm air :)
More warm air up the hiney...:)
Hanging out with daddy.

Naked bacon...Hannah loves to "escape" after her bath and run around the house naked. She is funny because she just laughs and laughs and thinks she is such hot stuff.

Cute kids, frustrated mommy...

My goofy Hannah...she is always getting into something :)
I watched Caedon on wednesday, and after their afternoon naps they both wanted to watch the Veggie Tales Silly Songs DVD. So I pulled out both little kid rocking chairs, and they actually sat and watched the entire 30 minute DVD. It was really cute.

So now to the frustrated mommy part. I try really hard not to be a negative person, or to be whining and complaining all the time. That said, I was really really close to strangling some of my nursing students today. I would take to long to go into all the details, but it was just really frustrating. I actually love me job, and I am glad that since I have to work I have been blessed with they job that I have...today was just really frustrating. But tomorrow is a new day, and I am sure things will go much more smoothly. Have a great weekend all!!

Pictures and Stories to Share

Pictures first:Hannah got this Veggie Tales DVD for Christmas...it is a collection of silly songs. We don't have cable at home and rarely watch movies when she is awake, so the first couple of times that we played it for her, she really could have cared less that it was on. As you can see, that has completely changed. She is transfixed by it...she is even starting to walk up to the TV and point at it, to tell us that she wants to watch her DVD. I think it is so funny. The songs are really catchy, so if you hear me singing "God is bigger than the boogie man" or "The Hairbrush Song" in the future, now you know why. :)

Bath time fun! She is still in love with bath time. Her newest tub trick is to lay on her stomach and stick her face in the water, and blow bubbles. I didn't teach her that, she just figured it out on her own. Aren't kids supposed to be afraid of putting their faces in the water??? Not my little fish baby :)

Hannah loves to push this school bus around and make car noises. It is pretty darn cute.

Now for stories:
Well, the past week has been centered around car issues for us. Most people know that a couple of weeks before Christmas I had the misfortune of hitting a deer and totaling our "good" car. God was good and no one was hurt, but the car was totaled. We decided to go back to having one car (we had done this in the past for quite some time) and try and save for a year so that the next car we buy we could hopefully pay cash for. Well then I rear ended someone in the old car, but with insurance it was worth it to fix it, so we did. We found out last thursday that the transmission was bad in our car. After weighing our options we decided to go ahead and fix the transmission, because even though it was an old car, it was paid off. So Monday Nick got a call from the mechanic, and he said the guess what...the engine was bad too. Apparently something about an engine rod and bearing about to blow. We decided that replacing a transmission and an engine in a 1997 Grand Prix with 155,000 miles on it was probably a dumb idea, so we went car shopping on Wed. And we came home with a minivan...that right, as nick put it, we have joined the VAN CLUB. We are really happy with our van, and I really think that God showed us the right car. The guy that we bought it from sold it to us for 1500 under book value, and that was after tax, title and all that fun stuff. I would highly reccommend the guy that we worked with, and if anyone would like his info, I would be happy to pass it on. Just leave me a comment. So that has been the past week in a nut shell. What could have been a really bad and expensive situation, fixing the transmission and then the engine blowing up a week or two later, actually turned out pretty well. Thank you Jesus for providing for us, even in the small things!!! Have a great weekend everyone!

How did this happen?!?!?!?!

I was brushing my hair after I dried it this after noon, when I heard a strange noise coming from the kitchen. I went to investigate and there was Hannah, sitting in the middle of a giant pile of animal crackers. I had told her that when mommy was done with her hair, I would get her a snack...I guess she didn't want to wait :)

I made cookies on Saturday for a church get together. I think Hannah liked them :)

Snow Days!

Hannah and I went sledding today. She liked to go down the hill, but fussed on the way up the hill. It was really fun, and Hannah was so cute!

Silly Girl!

Check out that tongue!!

Playing with Maggie
Messy eater!!!

Hannah and her buddy Ryan...she kept trying to put that diaper on his head...:)

Hello everyone, I hope that you are having a great week. Ours has been good so far. I survived the craziness of my work schedule last week, and am looking forward to getting settled into our "routine" for this semester. Hannah did well last week, and I kind of think that mommy missed her more than she missed me. She got to spend two days with daddy, one day with aunt Krissy, part of a day with grandma Hershberger and a day with grandma Hollingsworth. Which I know was lots of fun for her :) Thank you to everyone who helped us with babysitting...we are really blessed to have such a great family on both sides, and to have them all so close.

Speaking of Hannah, lately, as in the past week or so, she has started throwing major fits when she doesn't get her way. I am sure that most of it is simply her age, and testing her boundaries, but it is like she goes from smiling and happy toddler to high pitched screaming in 2 seconds. Right now, when she does this, I get down and look her in the eye and say very firmly, Hannah we do not scream when we don't get our way. Then she gets a light smack on the hand. If she continues screaming, I just ignore her (I always check to make sure she isn't hurt first), because I don't want her think that she will get her way by throwing a fit. Sometimes she calms down really quickly and other times she just continues to scream. AHHHHHHH!!! I'm not sure if I am handling this right, so if anyone has any suggestions, leave me a comment with your briliant thoughts. Thanks :)

Other than that, things have been really good for us. We are taking a Dave Ramsey financial class at church, and I really like it. One of the big points that he has made so far is that if you don't tell your money what to do, then it just goes away and you don't know what happened to it. How true is that?! Nick and I are going to start using the envelope system for our monthly groceries, and for our eating out money. I am excited to start doing this and see where it leads us.

I will leave you with a blog that I have been following www.cfhusband.blogspot.com. It is definitely worth looking at if you have the time. Please keep this family in your prayers, as they are going to need them in the coming weeks and months. Have a wonderful and blessed week!

Yes, these pictures are from today...

Can you believe that in the middle of January it was warm enough for Hannah and I to go to the park and play, and neither of us was wearing a coat? What a beautiful day. I have to confess, I really needed a day like today. Starting with Friday of last week, I have been really really frustrated with my job. Its a long story, and basically what happened was that there was some serious mis-communication between Malone and the hospital that I will be doing clinicals at, and I ended up paying the price for it. I have managed to get everything rearranged to accommodate everyones schedules and get all the things done that I need to do, so that is good. Thank you Nick for being a stay-at-home dad tomorrow and taking care of Hannah!!! I will just be really glad when this week is over and things will get back into a somewhat "normal" schedule. Although I have to wonder sometimes if our lives are really ever all that normal...just a thought :)

Well enough blogging about the things that make me grumpy, and onto why today was such a great day. The day started of wonderfully...Hannah slept in until 8:00 which meant I got to sleep until 7:30. That was fabulous. Hannah had a really good morning, and went down like a champ for her morning nap. She then slept from 10:00 until 12:15. Which was also quite fabulous. :) While she was napping I got all of my house work completed (I ran the vacuum before she went down), and got a shower and even fixed my hair. After she got up and we ate lunch, we ran a couple of errands, and then went to the park to play. We had so much fun swinging and going down the slide. Hannah loves going down the big slide while sitting on my lap. She laughs the whole way down. Just hearing my daughter laugh and squeal with joy and excitement was exactly what I needed. Even though some days she can try my patience to the point of exasperation, her uninhibited laughter can make me forget all the frustrating things, and put a huge smile on my face. Thank you Jesus, for using my precious little girl to remind me what is really important!!

I hope that everyone has a wonderful week! Enjoy the pics!
