34 weeks!

The 34 week belly :) I feel like it is huge!! I am carrying so differently than I did with Hannah, it feels like everything is out in front, and with her I was just really wide! Not sure if one is better than the other :)

I am starting to feel like I am ready to be done being pregnant. It is starting to get pretty warm out and we have no AC at our house, so I imagine that is contributing to my feelings. I am crossing my fingers for a couple more cool weeks before this little guy comes.

It is kind of strange, because with Hannah I had at least two ultrasounds a week from 24 weeks on, so I kind of felt like I knew what she looked like. But with Gabe, it is going to be such a surprise. Hannah definitely favors my husband, although I do think she has my eyes, so I think it will be fun to see who Gabe looks more like.

My goal for this week is to put the finishing touches on the nursery...curtains and a chair that I need to get from my grandma...and I have a few things to wash yet. Other than that, I am pretty much ready. I also need to pack my bag and Gabe's bag for the hospital. Or at least get those things started. Once I am finished with the nursery I will post some pictures. I really like it so far, and hopefully the finishing touches will come out cute :)

Have a happy Monday everyone!

A Day With Thomas

Last Sunday we played hookie from church and took Hannah up to a Thomas the Train extravaganza. They had several different tents with fun things for the kids to do...a tatoo tent (the fake kind :)), a story time, a model train set, and one that was called imagaination station. It had a giant Lego Thomas and several tables for the kids to play with Lego's or to color at. And of course we got to take a ride on Thomas. It was really really fun, and the next day Hannah was asking to go back again, so I think it would be safe to say that she enjoyed it too :)

The model train set.
Seeing Thomas for the first time.
Getting off the train with Daddy.
With the conductor in our train car.
Lego Thomas...I wonder how long that took to build!!

Our trip to PA to see the Sera Bean

My mom, Hannah and I spent the last three days with my sister, my adorable niece and my brother-in-law in PA. We had a wonderful visit, and it was so great to get to see my niece, who is 10 weeks old now, and I haven't seen since she was born. We spent a lot of time eating, talking, and hanging out. We also did some outlet shopping, and I got some really great deals! I got a five outfits and two shirts for Gabe at Childrens Place for only $23.00. Quite the deal if you ask me :)

Seriously...could she be any cuter?!Hannah "helping"Sera get a bath:)

Playing Ball with Grandpa

Mom and dad stopped over while on a walk today, and Hannah conned grandpa into playing ball with her :) "Playing ball" consists of rolling the ball up and down the driveway and running after it squealing. Great fun :)

Double Stroller?

I need a little advice from all you mom's of more than one out there. I have been thinking about looking for a double stroller for Hannah and Gabe, and wanted to get some opinions. Here are my questions?

1. Do you think it is worth the money? (I am thinking of looking for one at our community garage sales, and don't want to spend more than $50.00.)

2. In your experience, do you prefer one of the strollers that has the two seats side by side and is wider, or do you prefer the ones that are longer and have the two seats one in front of the other?

3. Do you have any recommendations on a certain brand or feature that you love or hate that I should look for or try to avoid?

Thanks!!

Kind of Ridiculous

I just have to post this story, because I find so completely ridiculous and a little bit annoying. On Sunday my husband and Hannah and I went out to lunch with my parents after church, and then headed over to the mall after lunch to do a bit of shopping. While we were at the mall, Hannah started asking for chocolate milk to drink. I obliged and bought her some chocolate milk, but of course I didn't have a sippy cup to put it in, and I didn't really trust her with just the plastic jug and a straw, especially with church clothes on.

So I asked the cashier for a cup to put the milk in. She got out this tiny little plastic cup (and when I say tiny think just a little bit bigger than the ones people have in the bathroom to rinse their mouth's out with). I chuckled and said, actually I need one with a lid. She replies, well this is the only one I can give you for free.

I am thinking, well thats ok, I will gladly pay 10 or 15 cents for a cup with a lid to save myself the hassle of cleaning chocolate milk out of the stroller, and trying to get the stains out of Hannah's clothes.

So I asked that cashier, "well how much would that be?"

To my complete shock, she says it will be $1.45.

I replied, "WHAT?!?!"

She says that they have to charge the full price of a small drink to give me the cup with the lid.

I then say, "Even though I already paid $1.69 for the chocolate milk?" The cashier said that was the policy.

I most certainly DID NOT pay for the cup with the lid, and Hannah survived until we got home and put her chocolate milk in a cup with a lid...for free! Kind of ridiculous, don't you think?!

30 weeks!!

I seriously cannot believe I am 30 weeks already!! Crazy how fast time is going. I am kind of glad though, I am starting to get into that really starting to "feel pregnant" stage. You know, the swollen sausage feet, grunting when you have to move fast, not being able to eat a full meal stage...:) I can't complain too much though, I am now done working for the semester, and don't have to go back to work until mid October. An yes, that pretty much ROCKS!!

Also, please ignore my scrubby outfit in this picture. It has been really warm here the past couple of days, and Hannah and I are going to wash the van today, so I am totally rocking the maternity tank and the hubby's athletic shorts :)

30 things

Early last week one of the blogging ladies, (whose blog I very much enjoy reading) tagged me in a memo. I have to confess, it made me feel pretty darn cool. You see I have never been tagged before, so I was pretty excited! Thanks Candy for making my day!!! :) And by the way, you should totally go check out Candy's blog. She is super funny, an amazing photographer, has three adorable kids, and she runs marathons!! VERY COOL!

So for this memo, I am supposed to list 30 Random things about myself, and then tag 10-30 of my bogging friends, so share the love :) So without further ado....here are 30 random things about me.

1. I am a nurse. I work very part-time teaching nursing students in their junior and senior years of nursing school, in their pediatric rotation. It is a great job!

2. I really really want to be a stay at home mom, and my husband and I are working our way to that point, but until we get there, I am very blessed to have the work situation that I do :)

3. I have been married to my husband for almost four years. Our four year anniversary is May 21 st of this year.

4. The first time Nick (my husband) asked me out I turned him down....(obviously I called him back :))

5. I have an amazing two year old daughter and a son on the way.

6. I basically live across the street from my parents and it is awesome. My mom is awesome and my dad is too! We get along great!

7. I grew up in a big family. Four kids and two parents :)

8. Of the four kids there is one boy. My poor brother got tortured as a child but he turned out awesome, joined the military after high school, and now he builds bikes (the pedal kind) for a living.

9. I also have two really cool sisters. One older and one younger.

10. My older sister just had her first baby, which is awesome, but I really miss them. They live six hours away which kind of sucks a big one.

11. I aspire to someday be as cool as my younger sister. She is absolutely gorgeous...skinny, red hair, and blue eyes....and she has amazing taste in all things. ie. clothes, furniture, decorations...pretty much everything!

12. I ran track from 7th grade through my senor year of college. It was amazing! I met my best friends and got to travel, and I love to run.

13. I did the heptathalon and my favorite event was long jump. I really stunk at throwing the javelin. I also really liked the 400m hurdles, but that wasn't part of the multi-events.

14. I used to be cool and listen to country music, but now I mostly listen to toddler tunes and Veggies Tales CD's.

15. My daughter is currently obsessed with Thomas the Train and Cinderellla. I love that she likes boy and girlie things.

16. We don't cable TV at our house, and haven't for two years. We can watch movies on our TV, but other than that it is just fuzz.

17. Nick and I are both closet nerds, and LOVE to read.

18. I just finished reading all of the Brad Thor books, and am currently looking for something new to read...any suggestions?

19. I like listening to talk radio. (I told you I am a closet nerd.) My favorites are Glenn Beck and Dave Ramsey.

20. Nick and I share a vehicle and have for the past year. Its really not that bad.

21. Even though I really enjoy running, I have torn both of my ACL's and so I am just a walker now. My knees really hurt when I run :(

22. I have plates or screws in three of my appendages. Both knees for ACL repairs and i broke my arm really good in the 7th grade and have plates and screws in my radius and ulna. Oops!

23. I secretly want to live way out in the country somewhere. I think that would be really fun.

24. I like doing laundry, but I seriously hate putting clothes away. I have to force myself to do it.

25. I really enjoy cooking and baking. I love trying new recipes, and baking and particular is stress relief for me.

26. I also like to sew.

27. I am sewing Hannah's flower girl dress for my cousins wedding in September. I am really excited to do it, but I am a little nervous too. :)

28. I am kind of a clean freak...I run my sweeper everyday. I think it may be a mild case of OCD ;)

29. We have a mildly insane dog, that I have a love hate relationship with. Most of the time I love her, but when she digs in the trash and makes a giant mess, I kind of want to kill her!!

30. My husband is obsessed with church league softball. I don't mind it too much though...its kind of fun to go his games :)

Well there you have it, 30 random things about me. Hope that you weren't too bored reading it, and if you read each thing, I am quite impressed! And now here is my list of people to tag. If you do this memo, leave me a comment, so I can stop by your blog, and read all about you :)

Happy Sunday Everyone!!

27 weeks and 6 days...and a name :)

Well, its a little fuzzy, but this is the belly at almost 28 weeks! I can't believe it is almost the start of the third trimester. I am glad though. I am excited to meet this active little boy.

After MUCH debate and thought and more debate, Nick and I have finally decided on a name for our little guy. Gabriel Steven...we both really like Gabriel, and Steven is my dad's name. I think we will probably call him Gabe for short...Hannah already calls him that :)

Easter Summary

We had a fun and relaxing Saturday and Sunday of Easter weekend. Here is a picture recap of the fun. :)
Hannah and her cousin Caedon. I thought this was funny because she said she was going to make a funny face :)They are at least both looking at the camera in this one :)
Hunting eggs at the Hershberger side Easter.
Easter dress...She loved this dress because it is blue like Cinderella's ball gown :)

Easter basket. It it had a Thomas the Train theme. Girlie loves Thomas and Cinderella :)
Sleepy Hannah on Easter morning.
Coloring eggs at Grandma and Grandpa Hollingsworth's house.
Showing off her basket of eggs from hunting eggs at Grandma and Grandpa Hollingsworth's.
Hunting eggs at the Hollingsworth side Easter :)

What a beautiful weekend it was. The weather was a little brisk, but the sun was out and that made it fantastic. We enjoyed spending time with our families, and being so thankful for Christ, his death and his resurrection. Hallelujah, He LIVES!!

We are really lucky to live about a two minute walk from the local elementary school. Since it was such a beautiful day today, we headed up to play. Fun was had by all :)

Saturday Night Fire

Last night we had a fire with my mom and dad, and my little sister. It was a little on the chilly side once the sun went down, but we just bundled up and enjoyed being outside. I love having fires and just sitting around talking. And there is something about hot dogs made over a fire, that are just better than hot dogs made in a pan. YUMMY!

Hannah had a blast running all over my parents yard. She kept saying "look at this girlie running very fast." Perhaps she will be my little runner someday. :)
