My little sister
Well she's not really that little, but since she is four years younger than me, I reserve the right to call her "little." I am not sure if I have mentioned it here or not, but she is getting married...to an Irish man...and moving to Ireland...in less than two months... I am so happy for her and Geoff, but I am going to miss her horribly. My sisters are two of my best friends, and we talk all the time. Krissy and I talk/text every day and see each other at least 1-2 times a week. Since I am going to be in major sister withdraw when she moves, my older sister and I decided to "coerce" her into starting a blog. And by "coerce" I mean "force." So if you want to , check her out at An Irish Adventure. Or you can click on my link on the sidebar. :) I just helped her put up engagement pictures :)

Pumpkin Patch

Last week we went to a local pumpkin patch with our play group friends. It was really chilly out, but we managed to have a good time despite the weather. We got to ride in a wagon out to the pumpkin patch, and pick our own pumpkins. We also saw all the animals at the petting zoo, and Hannah rode Teddy, the pony again. Then we topped off the morning with a pumpkin whoopie pie. Delicious!

These Eyes

When I was a little girl, there were two things I always wanted. Blue eyes and curly hair. Much to my little girl chagrin, I have brownish eyes and the straightest hair you could ever imagine. I have always thought that it would be fun to have a blue eyed baby, but since I married another brown haired, brown eyes person, I figured the chances of that happening were slim to none :) When Hannah was born her eyes were really dark, right from the beginning. She never had the blue eyes that most babies do right at the start. (She does however have curly hair, thanks to my hubby's genes :)) Then when Gabe was born, he had blue eyes...I was excited, but figured that they would change in a couple of week, since both his momma and daddy have brown eyes. Much to my surprise and delight, they seem to be staying blue. And I know that it is silly and trivial and not important at all, but I just love these beautiful blue eyes. And the little boy that goes with them of course :)

Baby Dedication

We had Gabe dedicated last week at church. It was really nice because my sister and her fiance from Ireland, as well as my parents and my in-laws were all able to be there. This is the best family picture that we have gotten so far :) One of these days we will get everyone looking at the camera at the same time :)

Three Months...take 2
Ok, so I know I can be a little picky at times, but I just wasn't thrilled with the pictures I took of Gabe yesterday for his three month pictures. The only one I sort of liked, was the one that I posted yesterday, and to be completely honest, I just think it is OK-ish. So I decided to try again today, and I am so glad that I did. I LOVE these pictures! I just think they really look like him. I can't decide if I like the black and white or the color versions better. Perhaps you could help me decide?

( I am not sure why, but blogger keeps uploading this one sideways. Maybe just turn your head to see it the right way :))

The Wedding
Finally, we have pictures from the wedding! These first few are of getting ready :)
Hannah playing with toys while we waited to put her dress on. Did you notice her shirt says flower girl :)
My sister, the poser. :) She was the maid of honor.
Hannah, before the wedding.
Krissy and Gabe before the wedding. I think Krissy looks so pretty in this picture.
Hannah smelling Krissy's flowers. She kept wanting to hold her bouquet. After the wedding Krissy gave it to her to play with and she used it as a feather duster to "dust" my mom's living room. And by dust I mean spread flower petals everywhere :)
Throwing out the flower petals.
Coming down the aisle...she really did a great job!
Almost to the end! I love the bow on that sash!
Four generations picture from the reception. From left to right...
Me and Gabe, Steph and Sera, Great Grandma Ellen, Grandma Hollingsworth and Hannah, and Krissy.

Rehersal
In continuing with my theme of the wedding weekend, these are the pictures from rehearsal.
Hannah was a little hesitant to practice walking down the aisle at first.
But once she realized she could stand with her Aunt Krissy, she was a happy camper. She walked down the aisle like a champ. And then she stood still for all of about 30 seconds.
Who knew the steps could be so much fun?!
Being a flower girl is such hard work! ;)
Mommy and Gabe...I like this picture, even though I gave him squishy face :)
Surprise little man, you are having your picture take :)
Family photo...I think that three out of four looking at the camera is pretty good :)
Aunt Krissy and Gabe at the rehearsal dinner.
Me and my baby sister! She is moving to Ireland when she gets married in a couple of months...sniff, sniff...:(

Fun with Steph
My cousin got married this past weekend, and so of course my older sister came in for the wedding. We went to a fun little farmers market type place. I don't get to see my older sister and her little girl Sera enough, because she lives six hours away...BOOOOO! So here is a photo montage of our day :)
First Sera made funny faces at me while I tried to take pictures of her...:)

Then I took a picture of my sister with her child...
And she took a picture of me with my children.
Next Hannah fed the goats...

and then she rode a pony! (It's name was Teddy, and now she thinks he is her pony...I think I will let daddy handle that ;) )

Then Gabe took a ruen making funny faces!

And finally, we relaxed with a snack before heading home :)
As you can see, Hannah completely enjoyed her donut!
Steph, I wish you lived closer so we could do stuff like this with our kids more often! I hope that someday, that might happen! And hopefully sooner rather than later :)

Cloth

Now if you are like most people you are probably thinking, that is crazy, or strange or really weird. Why on earth would someone want to use cloth diapers? Well since you asked.... A little over a month ago, I was going to the store to buy diapers for Gabe and Hannah (she still wears them for naps and bedtime, she is usually dry, but I am not brave enough to go diaperless yet) and I realized that I was spending about $100 a month on diapers!! Which to me seemed really ridiculous. I can think of so many other things I can do with $100....in a way I felt like I was just throwing money away each time a pitched a disposable. My slightly nerdy side would think, "there goes 22 cents" each time I would change Gabe. So I decided to look into cloth. At first I was like, is this going to be really gross, or a lot of extra work? After checking out several different diapers, I decided to try out the Bum Genius one size and the Fuzzibunz one size diapers. Those were the two with the best reviews consistently. And I liked the fact that they are adjustable, so you only have to buy one size.
So after testing them both out, I decided to go with the Fuzzibunz (doesn't that name just make you laugh). And like I said, I really like them. They wash up really nice and are very adjustable. Gabe has chubby legs, and I like that I can adjust the leg openings to fit him. I have only had one leak, and that was when I first started using them, and I pretty sure it was because I didn't have them adjusted right. Over all, it has been a good change for us. :)
And seriously, I don't think that there is much cuter than a little cloth diapered butt :) Because you know that is really important...cute diapers I mean ;)
