Pictures and Stories to Share

Pictures first:Hannah got this Veggie Tales DVD for Christmas...it is a collection of silly songs. We don't have cable at home and rarely watch movies when she is awake, so the first couple of times that we played it for her, she really could have cared less that it was on. As you can see, that has completely changed. She is transfixed by it...she is even starting to walk up to the TV and point at it, to tell us that she wants to watch her DVD. I think it is so funny. The songs are really catchy, so if you hear me singing "God is bigger than the boogie man" or "The Hairbrush Song" in the future, now you know why. :)

Bath time fun! She is still in love with bath time. Her newest tub trick is to lay on her stomach and stick her face in the water, and blow bubbles. I didn't teach her that, she just figured it out on her own. Aren't kids supposed to be afraid of putting their faces in the water??? Not my little fish baby :)

Hannah loves to push this school bus around and make car noises. It is pretty darn cute.

Now for stories:
Well, the past week has been centered around car issues for us. Most people know that a couple of weeks before Christmas I had the misfortune of hitting a deer and totaling our "good" car. God was good and no one was hurt, but the car was totaled. We decided to go back to having one car (we had done this in the past for quite some time) and try and save for a year so that the next car we buy we could hopefully pay cash for. Well then I rear ended someone in the old car, but with insurance it was worth it to fix it, so we did. We found out last thursday that the transmission was bad in our car. After weighing our options we decided to go ahead and fix the transmission, because even though it was an old car, it was paid off. So Monday Nick got a call from the mechanic, and he said the guess what...the engine was bad too. Apparently something about an engine rod and bearing about to blow. We decided that replacing a transmission and an engine in a 1997 Grand Prix with 155,000 miles on it was probably a dumb idea, so we went car shopping on Wed. And we came home with a minivan...that right, as nick put it, we have joined the VAN CLUB. We are really happy with our van, and I really think that God showed us the right car. The guy that we bought it from sold it to us for 1500 under book value, and that was after tax, title and all that fun stuff. I would highly reccommend the guy that we worked with, and if anyone would like his info, I would be happy to pass it on. Just leave me a comment. So that has been the past week in a nut shell. What could have been a really bad and expensive situation, fixing the transmission and then the engine blowing up a week or two later, actually turned out pretty well. Thank you Jesus for providing for us, even in the small things!!! Have a great weekend everyone!
