Packing day!

These pictures are actually from Tuesday when Hannah, my mom and I helped my little sister pack up her apartment, but I left the camera there by accident, and just got it back today. Can you tell that we were tired of packing and that the silliness factor was starting to kick in? :)

In this last picture Hannah is wearing one of my sisters tank tops and her cowboy boots. While we were packing up Krissy's clothes Hannah insisted on wearing some of Krissy's "purdies." I personally love her sense of style :)

A pictureless post

I know, it seems really weird to me to post without some pictures of miss Hannah. However, I was at my sisters all day yesterday helping her pack up to move to a new and really nice apt. (YAY for Krissy!!), and I accidentally left it there. Grrrr!! I am annoyed with myself. Oh well, I will get my camera back tomorrow, so then I can post lots and lots of pictures :)

So I start back to work tomorrow. In case you didn't know, I work at a small Christian college teaching pediatrics clinicals to nursing students. We are not quite at the point financially where we can afford for me to stay home full time, but I really couldn't have it any better as far as my job goes. I work two half days a week, I get to work in a Christian environment, and I get a summer break, a fall break, a spring break, and a Christmas break. I know all of this, and I know that I am so blessed to have the job that I have. But I am still kind of dreading starting up again. It is hard to get back into the work routine after being off for four months in the summer :). So if you think of it, could you say a prayer for me and Hannah tomorrow. Pray that everything goes smoothly and that Hannah has so much fun with her aunt Krissy that she doesn't even notice that I am gone! And if you could say a prayer for Nick too, as he handles the evening and bedtime routine by himself I would really appreciate it!! Thanks blogland, you are the best :)

Big Savings!

Just thought I would pass this along. I LOVE LOVE LOVE Gymboree!! Unfortunately they are a bit on the pricey side. However, they have a lot on sale right now, and if you sign up for the email, all you have to do is enter your email, you get an extra 30% off your order. And you can use it on merchandise that is already on sale. I took advantage, and hopefully you can too!

Also wanted to let you know that unfortunately the offer ends today :(

Pool Days :)

The past two weeks have been really really busy for us!! Not anything huge going on, just a bunch of little things. I was feeling a little stressed, so on Thursday Hannah and I decided to pack up all of stuff and head to the pool. It was just what we needed! She played, mommy relaxed, we had lunch in the park, and then headed home where we BOTH took naps. :) Ahhhhh!! We loved it :)

On a completely unrelated note, I was looking at Olympics coverage on the computer this morning (we don't have TV) and I came across this article. I ran track in college, and I was fairly decent at it. I did the heptathlon, which is the women version of the decathlon. Two years at ou NAIA outdoor national meet, I got to watch and compete in the same meet as Brian Clay. And now he is an Olympic Champion. How cool is that?! Pretty darn cool if you ask me. :)

Like mother, like daughter...

I LOVE this picture!! Hannah and I were goofing off at the park today and I asked my sister to take a picture of us. I told Hannah to make a funny face, and my sister captured the moment :)

Just Because...

Hannah loves to swing and I don't think you can have too many swinging pictures :)
Grandpa Ed bing silly while he reads to Hannah and Caedon. Check out that silly hat :)

So crazy busy!

Oh my goodness have we ever been busy this past couple of days!! I have been seriously slacking in the posting department! I feel like since Friday last week, we (Nick, Hannah, and myself) have just been running and on the go. I like staying busy, but I am definitely ready for some quiet time at home too!!! Here is a quick recap of the weekend. Friday we spent the day helping a lady from church, who has had some major health difficulties, and while she is getting stronger every day, she still needs help with housework, meals, taking care of kids, etc. Saturday was spent running errands, getting groceries, and just doing general catching up around the house. Sunday we had church in the morning and then in the afternoon we had our small group. Small group this month was very interesting. We met up with another group, and each group made a list of ten things that the other group had to do, and they had to video tape themselves doing. Our group had to:

1. Go hug a statue of a headless angel. (This is a local landmark of sorts.)
2. Go to Walmart and give flowers to a greeter.
3. Lay down on the local bike trail and outline our bodies in chalk.
4. Go the the toy machine and use the grabber to get out a toy. (We spent 3 dollars on this one and then quit, because, seriously, those things are such a rip off.)
5. Take a buggy ride. (This was probably the funniest one, because we were looking for Amish out in their buggies, and the first time we stopped the van and got out out to ask, the people slowed down a little bit, looked at us funny, and then started cracking the whip and sped up to get away from us. :))
6. Go to Burger King and order a cheeseburger in a rap, and then go through the drive through backwards. (We were sure we would get arrested for that one.)
7. Go to a local cemetery and find a specific grave.
8. Go to the town square and make a six person pyramid.
9. Milk a cow.
10. Pile the whole group (7 people) into a two door car.

We had a great time!! Afterwards we met up at one couples house and watched the videos, and it was so funny. We seriously looked like idiots, but it was worth it for the laughs :)

We have also been watching my sisters dog for her while she looks for apartments that allow pets, so that has been interesting. Hannah loves him though, and that makes it hard for me to complain too much. Check out these pictures of what he looked like when he first got here, and what he looks like now :)

WWWAT

A Different View

The theme for WWWAT this month is a different view. I have to admit, this was a hard one for me. In the past the themes have been pretty literal, and this one was much more open to interpretation. I thought about it for several days, and I was seriously stumped. So I decided to go through my pictures and find a favorite, and play with it, so then I would be looking at it from a different view. Hope that makes sense! Have a great Wednesday everyone, and if you have time, head over to American Mum and check out everyone else's take on "a different view."

(In case you are wondering, I cropped, fixed the color, and put a border and a matte edging on this picture.)

***Ok, I just have to add this, because I think it is really funny, and hopefully it will make you all laugh too. I am sitting here in the office, looking at othere people's WWWAT entries, and my hubby comes in and wonders what I am doing. So I tell him it is WWWAT time again, and I tell him how I really think that my post is kind of lame, but it was the best I could come up with. So then he says, "You know what would have been really cool?! You should have gotten a waterproof camera and put it in the toilet bowl and taken a picture like that." WHAT?!?!?!? I didn't even know what to say to that....:)***

Car Wash!

It was so nice out today that Hannah and I decided to give the van a good scrubbing. Well I mostly decided, but she was a more than willing participant :) She had lots of fun being my helper :) I was inspired after reading Andrea's blog, at Sgt. and Mrs. Hub. I thought that if she could take three kids to the car wash, surely I could stay at home and do it with one :) We even wiped down the inside and vacuumed it out too :) Yay for productivity!!!!

Lately Hannah has been really talking up a storm. I love to watch her learn new words, and it is especially fun to watch her try out new words for the first time. Its almost like you can see her brain working as her mouth forms each new sound. I find it particularly cute how she mis-pronounces some words. Some of my favorite "Hannah-ism's" are:

dickens - chickens
waffee - coffee
boo's - cows
boo's house - barn
oogurk - yogurt
gapes - grapes
wawoo - water
hop corn - popcorn

I am sure there are a bunch more that I will think of when I am done with this post, but those are my favorites for right now. :) I can't believe that Hannah will be 2 in just a little over a month. The time is just flying by, and sometimes it makes me a little sad. I guess that is why I wanted to write down the funny little things she says, because some day way too soon, she will be all grown up. "Sigh" :( I love my little girl :)

Lazy Summer Days

My dad is off work this week, so this morning, my mom, Hannah, my dad, and myself went for an 8 mile bike ride, then had a picnic in the park. And of course we couldn't go to the park with out some swinging time, as well as some silliness on the teeter-totter. :)
Hannah managed to con both of her grandparents into pushing her on the swings. At separate times, and both at the same time. :)
Hannah thought it was really funny to wear grandpa's hat.
This may be my favorite picture from the day. Yes those are my parents...on the teeter-totter. :) The look on my dad's face is priceless :)

The best part of the day though, was this conversation I overheard between Hannah and my mom. Hannah was swinging and my mom was pushing her, and Hannah was pointing to the sky and saying, "light, light." She was showing my mom the sun. And Mom replied, "Yes Hannah, that's the sun. Jesus put the sun in the sky so we can all have light." Such a simple and obvioius statement, but it reminded me how blessed I am to have such godly parents, and how incredibly blessed Hannah is to have such amazing grandparents. God is so good!!

uh-oh!!

Someone was feeling kind of ornery today. Someone found mommy's green sparkly scrapbooking pen and decided to get creative. ;) Someone thought she was pretty hot stuff :)

Family lodging...

This past weekend we made our annual trip with Nicks dad's side of the family for our family camping/lodging. Some of the aunts and uncles still call it family camping, but since we stay in a really nice air conditioned lodge, I have taken to calling it family lodging :) If everyone is comes, there are about 40 people. It is a great time of visiting and the cousins have so much fun playing together. Hannah loved playing with all her buddies. :) Here are some fun pictures from the weekend.

Swinging and Swimming...she was in heaven!

My hubby, the croquet stud!!
Hmmm, I wonder what there were looking at?
