First...

...Apple Fritter...
...parade...:)

She had fun, and so did mommy and daddy :)

* On a completely unrelated note, my sister, who is pregnant with her first baby, is trying to decide whether to go the midwife or the doctor route. She knows that there are pro's and con's to each, but would like to hear from some of you who have expereince with either one. So if you feel so inclined, head on over to her blog and leave a comment with your opinion!! Thanks!!*

Little Miss Silly

Hannah was in quite the silly mood today. She had me laughing several times today. Here are a few of my favorites:

1. I was going downstairs to swtich over a load of laundry and I asked her if she wanted to come with me. She said no, so I told her that was ok and that mommy would be back in just a minute. So I ran downstairs switched the laundry really quick, and when I got back upstairs she was sitting in the corner of the couch with a bag of chocolate covered raisins (I LOVE THESE!!), eating them out of the bag with one of her play spoons. It was so cute I just had to laugh :)

2. This evening I was working in the kitchen making cookies and talking to one of my best girl friends who had a rough day. So we are talking and out of the corner of my eye I see Hannah playing and she is happy so I didn't look too closely at what she was doing. As I am going to hang up the phone I look over at her and see what she is doing. She had dumped the water from the dogs dish into the dogs food dish, which still had food in it, and was stirring it up with a play fork. Trying not to laugh, I ask her what she is doing. And she looks up at me and oh so innocently answers..."cooking." Again, it was next to impossible not to laugh, as I am explaining to her that we don't play with the dogs dishes. :)

3. Tonight after we read Bible and were waiting for daddy to get home to read her the book of her choosing (this is our bedtime routine) we had the most enlightening conversation in which she told me all about the cows and how they eat hay and drink milk and then they have to go to the potty. It was much too cute :)

I hope that everyone had as good of a day as I did and was able to treasure precious moments with their little ones :)

More Hannah-ism's

I love the way that Hannah pronounces words as she is learning to talk and put sentences together. I have posted some of the funny pronunciations before, and I thought it would be fun to add a few to the list :)

seat belt - seat bop
Cinderella - Cindabrella
princess - princa
spoon - poon
grocery cart - grocery carpet
stickers - tickers

I am sure there are more, I just can't think of them right now. I really just love watching her learn new words and sayings. Watching the "light come on" so to speak is so much fun!

First time at the Fair

Last night my friend Heidi and I took our kids to the county fair for some good old fashioned fun. Hannah is really obsessed with cows and barns and pigs and chicens etc., so I thought she would have a lot of fun going through all the barns and seeing all the animals. And she did!! It was so much fun, and I had to laugh when I asked her what her favorite was, she said with no hesitation, it was the "piggies." In fact, she had such a good time that we (my husband and I this time) took her back again tonight. And again, she said the piggies were her favorite. Although she was really impressed with watching the horses being ridden too. :) It was really fun to watch her realize that the things that she sees in the books we read her and the toys that she plays with, are actually real live animals. I love watching her little mind work and figure things out:)
Playing in one of the cow stanchions...who knew it could be so much fun :)
Checking out the baby piggies...definitley the favorite of the night :)
The baby ducks and chicks were also a huge hit :)
Gotta love a little girl in her bibs :)

Vaccums?

So our current vacuum is dying a slow and painful death. We are hard on vacuums, we have a hairy dog in the house, and I sweep almost every day. What we currently have is this:

Hoover Empower Bagless Upright

It has lasted a little over three years, and it does a fairly good job of picking up the dog hair. My question is this. Do you think that it is worth the extra money to get something like this Dyson?

Dyson DC17 Animal Vacuum

I would love to get your opinions on what you like, love, dislike and hate about your current vacuum. And let me know if you think it is worth it to spend the extra money or not. And thanks in advance for your help :)

A Very Veggie Birthday

We celebrated Hannah's birthday on Sunday. She loves Veggie Tales, so that was the "theme" of the party. And by theme I mean that was the cake :) It was a great day. She got spoiled rotten, and we got to spend time with friends and family. Here are some pictures of the day.
Hanging out with mommy before the party.
Dora backpack and art supplies from Auntie Stephie and Uncle Lance.
Bob and Larry!!
Putting on her princess shoes. She is really starting to be into princesses. :)
Playing with her shopping cart from Aunt Melissa and Uncle Mike. And wearing her Buckeyes cheerleading outfit from Aunt Krissy. GO BUCKS!!

Her tricycle from Mommy and Daddy. I love the tassels on the handlebars. :) Her feet don't quite reach the pedals yet, but boy was she trying to make them :)

9/11

I can't think of anything that seems thoughtful, eloquent or meaningful enough to express everything that should be expressed on a day like today. So I will simply say thank you. Thank you to our policemen, firefighters, paramedics, Army, Navy, Marines and Airforce, and to their families. Thank you for fighting and sacrificing so that I can be free and so that my daughter can grow up innocent and free. You are heroes! I have not forgotten.

Because...

...like all moms, I think that my kid is pretty much the cutest one ever...I thought you all might enjoy seeing her two year old pictures that we had taken today. These are my three favorites. :)

*Anyone notice the red shoes? :) *

I also just had to share these two funny things I heard yesterday and today.

From Paige who is four while she was riding her bike: "I wish I could be Amish so that I could ride my bike EVERYWHERE!"

And from Garret who is three: "My dad is a police army man and he went fighting and shot down the Germans!" His dad is an ex-army ranger who is now a police man. Not sure where the part about the Gremans came from....:)

Ohhh, I love the thing that kids say!

The Day of the Dead Cat

(This picture has absolutely nothing to do with this post, but after you read the story you will understand why I felt the need to add in a gratuitous picture Hannah cuteness!! Her lips are blue from a Popsicle :))
Oh yes...I said dead cat.

Every Monday I babysit for two of the little girls that we go to church with. Nick works with their mom, and Hannah absolutely loves both girls. It is really usually a lot of fun! Today however, was, ummm, interesting? This morning around 10 o'clock we headed outside to play. As we were walking out the backyard, Hannah and the youngest girl (the older one was at school) spot the family cat laying beside the sliding board. Both of them really like the cat and are excited to go pet it. As we get a little nearer, I notice that something just doesn't look right. The cat isn't moving, and when I look a little closer, I see that it is gasping for breath. I quickly tell the girls that the kitty looks like it is taking a nap, and that we should probably go play in the front of the house so that we don't wake the kitty up. Luckily since they are 2 and 4, this seems perfectly logical and they head around to the front of the house with no complaints. I sneak back to check on the cat about an hour later, and yes, it was most defintely dead. EWWW, YUCK, GROSS!!!! I may be a nurse, and not a lot grosses me out, but I don't do dead family pets. No thank you very much!!! I get the girls back in the house for lunch and call my husband at work to ask him what he thinks I should do. He connects me to the lady whose cat just croaked and she asks me to get a shovel out of the garage and just scoop the cat up and throw it in the field behind the house. I really really really didn't want to do it, but I also really really didn't want the first grader to come home and find her dead cat in the back yard. So after lunch I put the girls down for their nap and head out to the back yard, shovel in hand. And I tried, I really did, but I just couldn't do it. I kept thinking that the whole body wouldn't fit on the shovel and it would probably fall off a dozen times before I got to field, and bleh....I just couldn't do it. Luckily the dad of the family that I babysit for had to stop home on his lunch break, and he took care of the cat.

It was certainly an interesting day...:)

First Day of Sunday School

(She didn't want to look at the camera....oh well :))

Today was Hannah's first day of Sunday School!! I couldn't believe it. At our church when the kids are two they stop going to the nursery and start going to Sunday School. Hannah will be two on Tuesday, so today was the big day. :) And she did really well. She was a little unsure about everything when I first dropped her off, but once her teacher showed her where she got to put a sticker by her name, she was good to go. When I talked to her teacher after Sunday School, she said she did good, and only fussed when she saw me coming to pick her up. So I think that is really good for the first time!!!!

Last night we went to the local high school band show with my parents. I was in the band in high school, I played the trumpet, and Nick and I thought it might be something that Hannah would enjoy. And she LOVED it. While the first two bands were playing she was sitting on Nicks lap in complete awe. I mean staring, open mouthed awe. And after that, each time a song was over she kept saying, "more songs?" It was too cute!! I really wish I had brought my camera.

On a completely unrelated noted, we have sort of started potty training. So far it is going pretty well. I had attempted it a couple of months ago, and Hannah was NOT ready, and it was so incredibly frustrating, that I quit. Last week she brought me her undies and asked to wear them. I thought, ok, it won't hurt. And she just started peeing on her potty. I really can't take any credit for it, she just did it herself. AND I LOVE IT!!!! She still has accidents if she gets really busy playing, and I haven't been brave enough to go out without a diaper, but it is a good start :) So hopefully I didn't jinx it by posting about it ;) I am keeping my fingers crossed :)

Little Red Shoes

Patent T-Strap Shoe

A couple of weeks ago I posted about sale at Gymboree. I LOVE their clothes, but they can be a bit pricey, so I always search the sales to try and get the best deal. Well, the things that I ordered came today. Everything is really really cute. But these little red shoes are by far my favorites!! Every girls needs a pair of red patent leather shoes at least once in her life time...don't you think :)

Labor Day Weekend

For the past three years we have spent our Labor Day weekends in Ft. Wayne Indiana at a church league softball tournament. My hubby is VERY into softball, and it is a really fun time. This year was they best year that the team has ever had!! They placed 2nd out of 22 teams!!!! I was very proud :) In one of the games my studly husband hit the winning run in in the bottom of the ninth inning. Yep, I was really excited. Hannah must of noticed because she kept saying, "YAY DADDY!!" It was too cute :) We played (and by we I mean the guys) 10 games in three days, and 5 of those games were on the last day! We were tired and dirty when we got home last night, but it was well worth it :) Enjoy the pictures of our weekend! I hope that everyone else had as much fun as we did this past weekend!
Do you see the "raspberry" on my hubbys leg from sliding...OUCH!! He was tough though and just wrapped it up and kept on playing.

I like this picture...I think he looks really cool!

The Team!! You guys ROCK!!
Our friend and team coach Dave got whacked in the face with a ball. He had a NASTY bruise!! He just kept playing too though...this is a team off really tough guys!

It got a little boring sometimes between games....so we got a little creative. :) What do you think of this look :)
